Have now sampled the Nalgene, Camelback, and this one, and the Contigo is the clear winner. Bottles themselves are pretty much the same, it's the lids that make the difference. This one is both easy to drink from and spill-proof! Clearly the best.
    Simple and Brilliant

Buying one 24oz bottled water at a convenience store everyday was costing me more than regular coffee shop visits. With one $15 purchase, I've recieved 32 oz of freedom. The bottle fits perfectly in your hand, the operation is flawless, and the carabiner clip makes it almost fun to carry around with me, on my belt, pack, or with just one finger. Since it is air-tight, any cold/hot temperature changes cause slight pressure, that will spray any remaining fluid in the reservoir all over your mouth/face/clothes. With a little practice this is avoidable though, and the thing that I like most is that backwash is virtually impossible. Take a drink off any other water botle, especially when you're eating, and then hold it upto the sunlight. It's almost like sea-monkeys!
This bottle is in its own class. Forget the rest.

I had an ancient water bottle I bought a grocery store for $1.99. I used it even as it grew worn and battered; I couldn't find anything better. I was getting desperate. I tried the Camelbak and didn't like it at all. I read a review of a new Nalgene water bottle. The reviewer said he picked "the Contigo" over the Nalgene. A quick search for "Contigo" lead me to this perfect water bottle!

After watching a demonstration video on the manufacturer's web site I was worried that the flow rate might not be high enough. I was wrong: it can deliver water faster than you can drink. I was skeptical of the carabiner loop on the top. It looked bulky and thought I might cut it off once I got the bottle. Now I that I've tried it, I like the carry loop very much. Besides, it shields the pushbutton to prevent accidental button-pushing in a crowded pack.

After two months of heavy use, I couldn't be happier with this bottle. There is no sign of wear or trouble with what must be a rather complex internal mechanism (the pushbutton opens both the drinking spout and a separate air inlet). It's perfect for driving. You can grab it and drink with one hand and then toss it onto the seat. It's auto-sealing with no leaks.

As another reviewer stated, the spout design makes "backwash" unlikely. Liquid in your mouth is not going to get back into the bottle. Other bottles (Camelbak, for example) will suck a little water from your mouth back into the bottle as you stop drinking. That carries mouth bacteria into the bottle where it can stay and grow, making your water taste a little less than fresh and pure.

I chose the dark gray bottle. Six colors are available in the 32-ounce size for purchase directly from Contigo ([...]), but you won't get free shipping from them.

If you want to read more reviews of this product, look for the 24-ounce version here on amazon.com. (Other than the liquid capacity, it's the same product). For some reason the 24-ounce model has separate product listings (and separate reviews) for each color, so check them all. Then there are the three-packs, with separate listings and reviews for each of the three-pack color combinations.
Great water bottle for daily use

Purchased this bottle because I'm tired of always having to purchase a bottle of water. I fill this up and take it with me everywhere including work and the car. The bottle itself is very strong, BPA free is a plus and the ability to clip onto a bag is even better. I do like that it has measurements on it since I can keep track of exactly how many cups of water I drink a day...once I drink 2 full bottles from this it ends up being your daily 8 glasses. So all in all I would purchase another one and continue to recommend this Contigo water bottle.
    Highly recommended product! 100% satisfied!

Wow, just wow, I absolutely love this water bottle.

I bought the 32 ounce size to keep by my computer throughout the day, it is large enough that with just two fillings I drink all the water I want for one day. Quality BPA free plastic, have not dropped it yet but with all plastic I am sure it would break/crack hitting a hard surface (that is pretty well a given for ALL plastic bottles, isn't it?).

    Pros:

    1. Nice large size (32 ounce)!
    2. Easy to handle and operate with one hand (For a woman, if the bottle will just sit around all day on the floor or desk the 32 ounce would be great to prevent numerous fill-ups, but if the bottle is carried around I suggest the 24 ounce. The 32 oz. when full is heavy to push and hold the water release button with one hand). For a man the 32 ounce is no problem.
    3. Shape tappers from bottom to top with a nice large base to prevent knock overs.
    4. Just a few threads for the lid so it's super easy to screw on, the threads appear to be very sturdy and would be hard to break or wear down.
    5. Clip on for a belt loop is sturdy and handy plus it helps protect accidental water discharges by protecting the water release button on the back of the lid.
    6. Easy to carry around with a single finger (kinda heavy though when full with 32 oz. of water, fyi, a gallon of water is over 8 pounds).
    7. Autoseal feature prevents back wash that could contaminate the reservoir (Really kind of gross to think back wash particles would stay in the bottle all day).
    8. 100% spillproof!
    9. Dishwasher safe so it would be easy to sterilize. Says the lid is dishwasher safe but I choose to clean by hand and rinse with hot water.

    Cons (two VERY small gripes):
    1. The autoseal feature will burp a few drops of water when first depressed so press it a bit away from your mouth and/or away from your key board if at the computer. I do want to add it DOES NOT do this every time. My guess is the back wash preventer quickly seals the spout and catches a few drops of water within its seal.
    2. Needs a bottle brush to scrub the inside, but with basic care and mere soap/water a dish towel will suffice, or sterilize in the dishwater.

Perfect water bottle IMHO, I could not be happier with it. I searched and searched for days and finally decided on this one and I am sure glad I did. I have went through numerous water bottles but was never satisfied until this Contigo arrived. I almost bought an outrageously expensive metal water bottle but past experiences with metal water bottles due to leaching of a weird taste left something to be desired. Sure, a plastic bottle will crack so I highly suggest you don't use this Contigo as a football ;) .

Final comment, if you want an excellent water purifier, check out the Mavea Elemaris Pitcher Filtration System, totally awesome, blows the pur water or brita pitcher out of the water (pun intended).
